Pareidolia is the new album that was never meant to be. I am currently working on another album (that’s been dragging its feet for some time now!), and in the process two very different sounds emerged. Thus, the dark ambient style side project Pareidolia emerged. Pareidolia is available to stream on Friday, September 17th, 2021.
Pareidolia emerged in the Sensation Sessions. My process, much like many other artists, is to create and subtract. I try mot to constrin myself in theme or style and see what emerges. It became evident quickly that there was a natural divide in the tracks. The tracks that didn’t “fit” with the larger form of the songs became the Pareidolia album.
Pareidolia draws on influences from the 90s. Nine Inch Nails and The Tear Garden (Amulet, Metaphysical, Eroded Imprint, The Descent), Delerium and Enigma (Reflection, Endless), Moby (Undertow, Memories of Love) are some of the bands I am reminded of when I listen back to these tracks.
