Kyle Richtig on Second Son:

I had a great time creating Second Son. It was wonderful to get back to creating music that I can dance to. Since releasing the song Daisies & Roses on NumberOneMusic, I have received such an outpouring of support that finishing this album became a mission for these fans. The first song I finished for the album was “The Cycle”, which I believe set the tone for the rest of the album. It was completed long before many of the songs were even conceived. Like many other people, I love the song “Daisies & Roses” – even after listening to it for months. One of the shortest songs, “Exit”, is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever put together. As an instrumental song it has the reprieve from me judging singing, but also reminds me of the instrumental beauty I hear when I listen to Moby. Second Son is a blend of my past and present. It is an album of perceptions (“Daisies & Roses”, “Insect Black Halo Teaches Me”, “The Cycle”, “Autumn’s Children”), relationships (“Runaway”, “Unintelligible”, “Broken Halo”, “I Wanna Shoot”, “Goodbye”, “Tuesday”, “Drip”) and politics (“Storm Bringer”, “Decolonize”). I look forward to hearing more about what people think.

Those who purchase Second Son, receive a full colour, 17 page PDF booklet featuring song lyrics and original photos by Kyle Richtig.
