The Candita Fish is one of my favourite paintings. This painting was the first in the ‘fish’ series, and was inspired by a co-worker who complained of stomach issues related to candida albicans. Her nickname quickly became Candita as a result. Anyone who has lived through food issues such as gluten or lactose allergies will likely relate to this paintings imagery.

The original drawing for The Candita Fish became the logo of The Smiling Fish and Eye. The Candita Fish remains in the Richtig Haus private collection.
